The Japanese often get a bad rap for not being innovative. People say they don't invent they just take inventions from other countries and improve them.
First) What's wrong with that? Would you really choose a Ford over a Toyota? And is there even an American company left that makes TVs? They may not invent the things we buy, but they sure do make other people's inventions better.
Second) Malarkey! Who invented Ninja throwing stars? Ninjas! And who invented Ninjas? The Japanese! Also, there's Crunky, Pocky, dirty underpants vending machines, and this.
So, clearly, they are an inventive bunch.
We assume that they only improve technological gizmos, but get this: they even improved on surreallist film!
